We wanted this hotel to take the guests back in time through this old street (Jalan Tun HS Lee) with some old photographs and the transition of that street to how it has evolved today. To compliment this theme, we used old style materials such as mosaic tiles, collapsible gates and the raw brick wall that we coincidentally uncovered during the demolishing of one of the dry walls. To add in a slight modern twist, some contemporary furnitures were used and the laying of the tiles were inspired by the current high-rise cityscape silhouette instead of the conventional pattern.
